We particularly need journalists and above all women journalists and writers to look at this story. A Western woman journalist who cannot yet be named for her own safety first brought the plight of these girls and their parents to the attention of overseas writers. She herself says that male writers need women writers in cases such as this, as men suffer character assassination when they try to expose the practices of these people.
We also would like someone experienced in fund raising either to manage a fund raising drive for the girls and the villagers or to tell us what reputable charity organization could be trusted with it. Be warned that we have little faith in the NGOs operating in Cambodia, including branches of international organizations there.
Above all, does anyone have the skills and the knowledge of how the girls can improve their own lives using this site or otherwise? And are there other groups in other Third World countries who could join Ectopia? Could help organize and manage such an enterprise? Don’t say yes, unless you have ideas, courage and drive.
If you cannot help in any of these respects, why not copy the site address and forward it to friends?
